What's wrong with this picture?

I'm all for the ethical treatment of animals so don't get me wrong when I say I don't get this. I'm totally appalled by the treatment of those chickens but, um, I'm a little confused by KFC's response. Yeah, yeah. What else were they going to say? But, c'mon. Their business is dead chickens. Ain't no way to get around that, folks.
