I've been thinking about Gary Condit/Chandra Levy quite a bit, but moreso since the overpublicized Condit interview with Connie Chung on Thursday and this week's People magazine cover story.
My main thought is ... Who the heck is Gary Condit and why is this case getting so much publicity? From what we've all heard in the past, it's not hard to believe that Washington politicians have affairs with interns everyday. One mother was on television saying her daughter was an intern, is also missing, and no one says anything about her. Honestly, I can't remember her name.
So why Gary Condit and Chandra Levy? Had anyone outside of California ever heard of either of them before Levy disappeared?
Is it possible that Levy uncovered something she shouldn't have? That theory makes more sense than an obsure Congressman making his girlfriend disappear to hide the affair from his wife. After all, shouldn't wives of politicians expect affairs? If not, they're living in a fantasy world.
The questions now are ... What kind of information did Levy uncover and how far will the government go to cover it up?
