Numb
I'm not sure how I feel about the Flight 587 crash. Was it another act of terrorism? Was it a mechanical problem? Either way, it's disturbing.
If it was another act of terrorism, that means all the supposed new security measures at airports aren't working. If it was a mechanical problem, shame on American Airlines. As if people aren't already afraid enough about flying, now they have to worry about the planes not even being in proper working order. That in and of itself is a tragedy.
Anyway, I think I'm leaning toward the terrorism theory. The plane was delayed on the runway for about an hour and a half. (Of course we don't really know why.) If there was a bomb on the plane scheduled to go off an hour and a half after take-off, and the plane had taken off on time, where would it have been when the plane exploded? Over Disney World -- and on a national holiday.
Maybe I'm thinking about this too much. Maybe the people in the government and airline industry who should be thinking about it aren't.
