Did you ever get involved in a plan that you know is bad, but you go along with it anyway? Well, that's what I'm doing next weekend. It's not that any of the plans are awful exactly. As a matter of fact, by themselves they're all really good. Except one. You know how it's a college tradition to go home for Thanksgiving and spend Wednesday night before the big day drinking yourself silly? Well, my cousins and some friends seem to think it would be fun to relive those days (since none of us remember them when they actually happened). My initial reaction when this was first suggested to me was "Seek therapy. Fast." I'm not saying I'm too old to be doing that anymo... Yeah. I am. But we'll see. It might be fun. However, by planning an evening of drunken revelry the night before Thanksgiving, I'm forced to get everything ready for Thursday's dinner by Wednesday afternoon. Yikes! So, if I survive all that, the plan for Friday is that a bunch of us are going to see The Santa Clause 2(or Adam Sandler's Eight Crazy Nights. There's still a rather heated debate on that topic.) with children. Lots of children. None of them are mine, thank God. Luckily, the one I will be in charge of is cool and almost 13. I should live through the experience. Then, on Saturday, the whole group of us (more than 30 at last count) will head to Niagara Falls for the Festival of Lights. I haven't been there in years, so I'm looking forward to it. Except getting into Canada. None of us has crossed the border since 9/11, so we don't know what to except. It used to be nothing to go to Canada. We'll see. Anyway, the reason for all this is that last year everyone was afraid to travel so a lot of people didn't come home for Thanksgiving. This year it's nuts! This little ol' town is going to triple in size that weekend, I think. ... So, I'll let ya know how it goes, okay? Wish me luck! And in case I don't get back here for a while ...
