The "Real" News
I've gotten a couple of e-mails from people asking why, if this blog is called "My Views on the News," I haven't commented on the "real" news. First of all, I didn't know anyone still read this blog and cared enough to send me an e-mail. But thanks. Anyway, I haven't commented on the seemingly impending war with Iraq because, quite frankly, it scares and depresses me. What more is there to say? I agree with this.
But because a couple of you did ask, here's what I think:
1.Bush is being irresponsible, irrational and stupid.
2.The United Nations is worthless. The purpose it serves best is providing fodder for late night talk show hosts.
3.France sucks.
4.No matter what the talking heads say, American troops are not ready for war. How many accidents involving our troops have there been since 9/11? And there's not even an official war yet!
5.Tom Ridge is a disappointment.
Call me cynical, but this won't work. Bush will find a way to get us into war no matter what anyone says or does. He's obsessed.
There you have it, for what it's worth.
